Seiko Instruments GmbH is looking forward to the new-era of web exhibitions with its participation in the virtual.drupa like many others.
The company's flagship printhead the Seiko RC1536 printhead is now available for water-based fluids which makes it suitable for the textile industry in addition to many others such as coding and marking, corrugated cardboard, 3D and embellishments.
This year we are happy to showcase our beta-project in the embellishments sector, which has been realised with the cooperation of three companies, ACTEGA Terra GmbH, who have developed a jettable water-based overprint varnish, adphos Digital Printing GmbH, who have provided the NIR drying system and the machine integrator IdeeGO GmbH, who have supported us to put everything together. The result of this collaboration is a small web press that can print via inkjet, water-based glossy varnish selectively and precisely on a pre-printed web.
This prototype has been continuously tested for the last few months at our all new ISO-certified laboratory located at the headquarters of Seiko Instruments GmbH near Frankfurt (Main), Germany.
