Argo Ignites the Argo-Verse: Buskro Unveils Modular Digital Print Platform Built Around the Customer's Application

Starting From the Application, Not the Machine

Where much of the industrial inkjet market still leads with fixed, closed systems, Buskro is reversing the conversation. Instead of asking where a given machine can be used, Buskro starts with the production requirement: substrate, print width, colour, orientation, speed, data, available space, and what already exists on the line. From there, the right system is assembled from standardized building blocks with defined mechanical, electrical and software relationships - a true engineered platform, not a box of unrelated accessories. Benefit to the customer: paying for capability that creates value, and not getting locked out when requirements evolve.

Argo: The First Building Block of a Larger System

Argo is engineered to scale - in print width, colour configuration (monochrome, spot-colour, two-colour or full CMYK), and physical orientation - and to run either stand-alone or integrated directly into an existing conveyor or production line. Behind the printhead sits Buskro's software Compose 360, controls and decades of integration experience, the layer the company says will ultimately differentiate the platform as much as the hardware itself. The user benefits from a system that starts at the size justified by today's job and expands - in width, colour or surrounding process capability - without discarding the original investment or re-engineering from scratch.

Engineered Modularity, Not Compromised Performance

Buskro is explicit that flexibility cannot come at the expense of print quality, speed, registration or reliability. Every application is qualified individually - factoring in how ink behaves on different surfaces, substrate absorbency, temperature, line speed and drying - before a configuration is recommended. Argo can be positioned to jet horizontally or vertically, at a distance of 10 mm from the substrate, the print delivers sharp, machine-readable images. Customers can expect application-tested confidence rather than a one-size-fits-all performance claim.

Investment Aligned to Actual Production Need

Unlike multi-million-euro complete digital presses, Argo is designed to lower the entry barrier. Subject to final configuration, Buskro's current commercial target is an entry system beginning below €50,000, with a one-metre CMYK bar targeted below €400,000 - figures that will move with scope (transport, drying, ink delivery, installation and integration) but that establish a clear principle: invest in the functions that create value first. Argo currently ships with 775 ml ink-cartridges, with bulk ink delivery planned for higher-consumption customers.

Benefit to the customer: capital, floor space and complexity matched to real production demand - not to the constraints of a fixed machine.

The Argo Ecosystem is here to challenge rigid, monolithic printer architecture

The Argo-Verse is built to welcome specialist partners as first-class parts of the architecture rather than external add-ons. A near-term example is a collaboration with drying specialist adphos, integrating a dedicated drying module directly with the Argo "Node" for water-based ink applications on substrates such as wood, paper, corrugated and folding carton. Buskro's variable-data heritage also extends the platform into visual quality inspection and traceability, combining print with RFID and other identification technologies for identification, verification and downstream process control.

Buskro will demonstrate its CMYK Argo system at the FuturePrint Packaging, Labels & DTS Summit in Valencia on 29–30 September 2026, printing across labels, corrugated board, folding carton and selected porous substrates.
