YIPP (Young People in Print and Packaging) is looking for print companies across the UK to support a worthwhile project…. Can you help?
The UK print and packaging sector is facing a significant challenge. As an ageing industry workforce, we must try and do more to inspire the next generation and showcase the exciting, creative, and rewarding careers our sector has to offer.
To help achieve this, YPIPP has launched an exciting new initiative called "Love Our Landmarks (LOL)". Working in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), the project encourages school and college leavers to design their own postcard featuring a local landmark they love, along with a short explanation of why it is special to them.
The uptake from the educators has been breath-taking and we are in danger of not having enough print companies to fulfil our needs.
YPIPP is looking for print companies across the UK to support the project by printing just four copies of each student's postcard and returning them to their local school. The printing is requested free of charge, but in return, participating companies will be introduced to the schools they support, creating opportunities to engage with young people, offer work experience, apprenticeships, or simply showcase the fantastic careers available within our industry.
This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our industry's commitment to developing future talent while making a meaningful contribution to your communities. It is a simple initiative with the potential to have a lasting impact.
The project is expected to launch in September, with companies being matched to schools within their own geographical area to keep participation manageable.
