Michael Lackner asserts that UV ink systems are complex and only a few may be suitable for use in real production systems
There has been a significant increase in the number of UV ink systems on the market, but even though their measurable ink parameters all meet the requisites of printhead manufacturers, only a small fraction of these inks are suitable for use in real production conditions and print stably without jamming nozzles and adequately adhere to the support etc.
Since the reasons behind this are very complex, the purpose of this article is to illustrate, on the basis of crucial physical and chemical parameters, the complexity of optimised ink systems.
